Football First Aid Course

A Football First Aid Course is being offered by Football South - free of charge.

Please pass this on to people at the club you think may be keen – parents, players, siblings, grandparents, coaches, referees – anyone involved or associated with Football South is welcome to attend free of charge!

Football South and Vertical Horizonz are giving Football South members the opportunity to participate in Football specific, first aid training. These courses are FREE of charge!!!!! Specific dates and times are below, please note, it is a first come first served basis with maximum of 20 participants per course.

 Emergency Football First Aid

 Dunedin- 10th April Longroom upstairs at FS Office, 8.30am-12pm & 12.30pm-4pm 

 Timaru- 11th April Sir Basil Arthur Park 9am-12.30pm

 Central Otago- 18th April Wanaka Recreation Centre 9am-12.30pm

 Invercargill- TBC 

 Purpose

The aim of this workshop is to raise the standard of first aid provision within football and provide managers, coaches and volunteers the skills required to provide immediate first aid in order to preserve life, promote recovery and prevent the casualty’s condition from worsening.

 Workshop Objectives

• Scene assessment and management.
• Primary assessment.
• CPR – adult and child.
• AED use and practice.
• Acute soft tissue injuries in football.
• Fractures and dislocations.
